What is Planned Giving?

A planned gift is any deferred gift intended to benefit the Lafayette Public Library. Because the Lafayette Library is a city government entity, bequests cannot be made directly to it. Bequests to the Library are made through the Friends of the Lafayette Library Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to solely support the Library.

There are a variety of planned giving methods at your disposal. Some of the most effective and commonly utilized vehicles are:

  • Leave a gift to the Friends in your will!
  • You can designate the Friends as a full or partial beneficiary on your IRA or other bank accounts.
  • A variety of legacy options exist. Please consult with your attorney, financial planner, tax accountant or other professional for details.

All donations to the Friends of the Lafayette Library Foundation benefit only the Lafayette Public Library. We are a registered charity with the Colorado Secretary of State, EIN 84-1310502.
